Swing craft
To create this decorative swing craft, follow the steps below. This craft is made from simple materials like paper, straws, and cardstock, making it a perfect DIY project.
Materials Needed :-
1. Cardboard or Thick Cardstock :- (for the base and swing seat)
2. Paper Straws :- (4 for the swing frame)
3. Colored Paper :- (purple for flowers and green for leaves)
4. Glue or Hot Glue Gun
5. Scissors
6. Ruler
7. Marker or Pen :- (optional, for designs)
8. Decorative Tape or Ribbon :- (for added accents)
Step-by-Step Instructions :-
1. Create the Base :-
- Cut a rectangular piece of thick cardboard or cardstock (approx. 20 cm x 15 cm) for the swing's base.
- Cover the base with white paper or decorative wrapping paper to give it a clean and attractive look.
2. Prepare the Swing Frame :-
- Take four paper straws and glue or tape them upright at the corners of the base.
- Ensure they are securely attached, as they will hold the swing in place.
3. Attach the Top Support :-
- Cut another straw or a piece of cardstock to span across the top, connecting two straws on each side to create a horizontal bar for hanging the swing.
- Secure this bar firmly with glue or tape.
4. Make the Swing Seat :-
- Cut a small rectangular piece of cardstock (approx. 10 cm x 6 cm) for the swing seat.
- Fold up the edges slightly to make a bench-like structure.
- Attach thin strips of paper or thread to each corner of the seat and tie or glue these to the top horizontal bar.
5. Craft the Flowers and Leaves :-
- To make the roses :-
- Cut a circle our of purple paper and sprial - cut it into a continuous strip.
- Roll the strip tightly from the outer edge to the center , creating a rose shape., glue it in place.
- To make the leaves :-
- Cut leaf shapes from green paper and fold them slightly for a 3D effect.
- Attach the roses and leaves to the top bar and the corners of the base using glue.
6. Add Decorative Elements :-
- Wrap the straws with decorative tape or ribbon for a polished look.
- Optionally, add designs to the swing seat or base using markers or stickers.
7. Final Assembly :-
- Double-check all connections and adjust the swing so it hangs evenly.
- Add any final touches or decorations to enhance the overall look.
